The Spring Collection was developed by considering the functional demands of garments in extreme heat and exposure to the sun. After looking at images from the deserts of Northern Africa and the Middle East, many re-sees of Lawrence of Arabia, and infusing those principles with an urban sensibility, fabric selection and proportion came together to define what spring/summer outerwear from Starkweather.
Motifs of sand dunes and cactus, draped voile and transparent layers refine the silhouette while adding a breezy level of protection from the sun and humid air. Cool Wool, a 100% wool woven of very fine yarn, has a temperature regulation quality to keep you warmer when the temperature is cool, and cool when the temperature is warm, making it the perfect fabric for transitional seasons and summer evenings. This is the kind of function within design that Starkweather values above all, no matter the season.
